Abbie Wilemon is a dedicated pianist and educator who brings thoughtful, individualized instruction to students of all ages and levels. She holds a Master of Music in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the Peabody Institute and a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Furman University, and is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance at the University of Maryland.
Abbie has taught beginner through advanced students in both private and group settings, with experience ranging from young children to adults. Central to her teaching is the belief that each student requires an approach tailored to their age, experience, learning style, and musical goals. She creates detailed, carefully structured lesson plans that balance repertoire with technique, theory, musicianship, and creative exploration, allowing students to develop strong foundations while progressing at a pace appropriate to their individual needs.
Alongside her teaching, Abbie maintains an active career as a solo and collaborative pianist. She has worked extensively with singers, instrumentalists, opera companies, and chamber ensembles, including Opera Saratoga, the Peabody Institute, and the University of Maryland. Her broad performance experience enriches her teaching and helps students connect technical development with expressive, confident music-making.
