Megan Jones is a Washington, D.C.-based violinist, conductor, educator, and arranger dedicated to creating meaningful musical experiences through performance, collaboration, and music education. With over 17 years of experience as a musician, Megan’s artistry spans Baroque, Classical, contemporary, and musical theatre repertoire, reflecting her versatility as both a performer and creative leader.
A graduate of The Hartt School of Music, Dance, and Theater with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, Megan has developed a multifaceted career that bridges performance and education. As a violinist, she has performed in solo, chamber, orchestral, and musical theatre settings, while her conducting work has led her to collaborate with ensembles and student musicians throughout the United States. Her conducting experience includes leading orchestral projects, participating in conducting workshops, and serving in youth orchestra programs focused on artistic development and mentorship.
Megan’s passion for music education is deeply rooted in her own experiences as a student musician through programs including the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, the DC Youth Orchestra Program, and Levine Music. These formative experiences shaped her belief in the transformative power of accessible, high-quality music education. Through her work as an educator and mentor with organizations such as YOLA (Youth Orchestra Los Angeles), The Barrie School, and The Musicianship, she strives to empower students by fostering creativity, confidence, and a lifelong connection to music.
